Countertops
We offer a variety of custom countertop options:
Laminated Countertops
from Wilsonart and Formica
- Custom edges
- Backsplashes
Laminate countertops are an option for those looking for a durable and inexpensive solution for their remodel / constuction needs
Strength / Durability - laminate is a strong and durable product and if maintained properly, laminate countertops can last indefinitely.
Water Resistance - Laminate countertops are relatively moisture resistant. Problems lie in water pooling near edges and thus dissolving the resins / adhesives that bind the materials together, and damage of foundation below.
Scratch Resistance – Laminate is relatively resistant to minor scratches but is prone to chipping on its edges with abuse. Always use a cutting board and never use sharp objects directly on its surface.

Ceramic Tile
- Decorative inserts
- Backsplash listello liners
- Counter to cabinet backsplash
Strength / Durability – The strength of ceramic tiles are very strong with respect to wear and scratching, these countertops are more susceptible to damage than laminate. Heavy objects could create enough pressure to crack tiles and dropping heavy objects onto the counter will most likely break or damage the tile. It is possible to replace broken / damaged tiles, although this may damage surrounding tiles.
Fire / Heat resistance – Ceramic tiles are fire resistant. A great option to use around cooking surfaces.
Scratch resistance – Ceramic tile ranks high among similar materials for scratch resistance.
Water resistance – Ceramic tiles are for the most part moisture resistant with different absorption rates depending on actual tile. If water is left pooling on a ceramic surface for a period of time, damage may occar. Proper cleaning and maintnance should keep tiles looking new.

Modular Granite
from Benissimo systems
- 15 beautiful colors
- Preformed edges and corners
- Mosaic, trim, and accessories for custom backsplashes
Durability – Granite is extremely durable and this lends to its popularity as a kitchen countertop surface. Granite is scratch resistant due to its coloring through out the entire tile.
Heat /Moisture resistance – Granite will not burn. One drawback though, granite is very porous and therefore will absorb moisture and of course stain. A sealer must be applied approximatly every six months.

Another option for these tiles is for fireplace surrounds and hearths.
