Laminate Flooring

We carry a full array of laminates from all the top manufacturers such as: QUICKSTEP, WILSONART, PERGO, ARMSTRONG, MANNINGTON Just to name a few.

Laminate flooring comes in either plank or tiles and come in an array of colors and styles and are designed to look like real wood, ceramic tile, and stone. This type of flooring is manufactured from several different layers of materials that are pressed together under intense pressure to form each plank.

The inner core is generally made from a high-density fiber board, and are treated with a resin and or water resistant sealers to help protect the board from moisture.

Laminate floor planks are fused together in one of two different types of ways:

FIRST is the DIRECT PRESSURE LAMINATE (DPL) this process is when all the materials are fuse together in one step. This is the most commonly found laminates on the market today.
SECOND is the HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE (HPL)

Durability

Strength - Laminate floors are excellent in high traffic areas. they are also stain resistant and will not fade from UV ray exposure.
Scratch Resistance – Laminate flooring extremely scratch resistant but NOT scratch proof. Use felt pads under chairs and furniture to avoin and scuffing / scratching from the movement of these items.
Fire resistance - Most laminate floors are fire retardant, and surface burn resistant.
Water resistance – Moisture can damage a laminate floor. Mostly from standing liquid allowing the liquid to penitrate the seams thus causing the core board material to swell / peak. The quality of laminate used has a regard to water resistance. Some manufacturers have moisture warrentes on their higher end products.
